DAY 1 - Bagnara (9 nights)
Arrive at Lamezia airport and transfer to Grand Hotel Victoria in Bagnara on the "Violet Coast" of Calabria.  Enjoy the rest of the day settling in and discovering this quaint fishing village at your leisure. Welcome cocktails and dinner at hotel. (D)
DAY 2 - Pentedattilo, Locri, Gerace
A scenic tour around the big toe of Italy from the Tyrrhenian sea to the Ionian Sea taking in some of the towns along the way, including the ancient town of Pentedattilo, built into a rocky mountainside that appears like five outstretched fingers. We then move on to the ancient Greek city, Locri Epizephyrii where we visit the archaeological excavations and the Museum. Our last stop for the day is Gerace, the medieval town once called the "Florence of the South". (B, L)
DAY 3 - Reggio, Scilla
Today we visit Reggio to view the city’s historical and cultural sights, as well as a visit to the world-renowned National Museum where the famous Bronzes of Riace are displayed. Stroll along the “Lungomare Matteotti” (the promenade), the “most beautiful kilometre in Italy”, while enjoying an obligatory gelato from the famous Cesare.  The Corso Garibaldi in the city centre is lined with beautiful boutiques selling up-market Italian fashion as well as traditional Calabrian products. We then make our way to the mythical Scilla, perhaps Italy’s most picturesque fishing village. Walk through the delightful neighbourhood of Chianalea with its pastel-hued houses squeezed in between the highway and the sea. (B, L)
DAY 4 - Messina, Taormina
A bus trip to Villa St. Giovanni, ferry across to Sicily and stop in Messina where we visit the Duomo. We then continue to the delightful coastal town of Taormina, possibly the best-known holiday destination in Sicily.  A tourist resort since ancient times, Taormina has something to offer every visitor, whether it be the wondrous mixture of archaeological sites, such as the Greek Roman Theatre and the Odeon, or the elegant boutique shopping along the famous Corso Umberto.  The fabulous panoramic views, across 100 kilometres of the Mediterranean, leading to the still-active volcano of Mt.Etna, captivates all who see it. DAY 5 - Aeolian Islands (weather permitting)
An excursion to the Aeolian Islands situated on the North coast of Sicily in the Tyrrhenian Sea. The group is made up of seven islands, the largest of which is Lipari where we stop for lunch and have free time to discover the island. We also visit Vulcano where we can enjoy the therapeutic mud baths and thermal springs. The other islands are Salina, Panarea, Alicudi, Filicudi and then there is the most captivating island of them all, Stromboli, a still active volcano. (B, L)
DAY 6 - Day of Rest & Recreation (B)
DAY 7 - St Elia, Aspromonte, Gambarie
A trip to the Aspromonte National Park and the town of Gambarie, where you can take a ride on the chair-lift to the top of Montalto with its breathtaking views of the mountain ranges clear across to the Tyrrhenian sea on one side and the Ionian sea on the other. Lunch at a local restaurant where we can indulge in the home made food and locally made wines. Then we will spend the rest of the afternoon discovering the surrounding area with its many historical points of interest. In the evening we visit Reggio and do what the Italians do, stroll along the promenade, eat the best gelato in Italy and gaze across to the lights of Sicily. (B, L)
DAY 8 - Roccella Ionica, Stilo, Bivongi, Serra San Bruno
We travel to Roccella Ionica where we visit a Bergamot plantation and sample some of the foods and liqueurs made from this unique citrus fruit, grown only in Calabria.  Next is Stilo with a visit to the famous La Cattolica and then a wander through the historical centre of this Byzantine town. Continue to Bivongi, a picturesque village with a maze of alleyways and staircases leading to houses all perched one above the other. We then visit Serra S.Bruno and the Carthusian Monastery built in 1097, S.Bruno lake and the church of S. Maria del Bosco. (B, D)
DAY 9 - Pizzo, Tropea, Capo Vaticano
We continue our tour with a visit to one of the loveliest seaside resorts on the “Calabrian Riviera”, Tropea. This is a lovely little town that cascades down the hillside, a mass of red-tiled roofs culminating in a broad terrace that overlooks the water 200 feet below. Along the coast facing the spectacular Gulf of Sant’Eufemia we arrive at Pizzo, a historical town famous for its 15th Century Ruffo Castle and Piedigrotta, a church carved into the Tufo rock. Then sample the local Tartufo ice-cream, made to the original recipe for over 100 years. (B, D)
DAY 10 - Departure
Transfer to Lamezia Terme Airport for departure and on to your next destination. (B)
